At the heart of the Talk:Evolve approach is a desire to foster interpersonal communication that build in the durability and resilience required for exceptional teams to evolve and succeed. Talk: Evolve is headed up by Bronwen Downie.

Bronwen cut her teeth on the highs and lows of team dynamics in environments where winning is everything and cohesion is an essential ingredient for high performance - elite sport. An Olympian and dual World Champion in the sport of rowing, Bronwen brings a unique perspective on finding balance between individual autonomy, team leadership, and the team cohesion required for performances under high pressure. 

At the heart of Bronwen’s approach is a desire to foster the interpersonal communication skills that build in the durability and resilience required for teams to evolve and succeed in competitive environments. Be that in the sporting or corporate arena. Life as an elite athlete combined with qualifications in Executive Coaching Psychology, Structural Dynamics, and Psychological Safety allow Bronwen to traverse both sporting and corporate fields of play.  Assisting teams to better understand the dynamics of their personal and team communication styles, combining tools from evidence based research with her experience in high performance environments to address system dynamics and  team culture.

Bronwen is passionate about leveraging the value of intentionally building communication skills in high performance environments such as elite sport. When much is at stake after months or even years of preparation, team dynamics and team culture can play a significant role in final performance outcomes. The wellbeing of athletes, and the ability of athletes to transpose skills learned in competitive sporting environments to their corporate careers, is a focal point.

Outside the sporting team context, Bronwen works in the Tertiary Education sector. She is also an associate with People Talking, delivering programs of work on Structural Dynamics and Psychological Safety in teams.
